What a cookie is
A cookie is a small file this site stores in your browser. It remembers something between one page and the next: which language you are reading in, for instance.
Which cookies this site uses
Three, and all three are first-party: this site sets them, not a third party. We use no advertising or social media cookies.
| Name | What it does | How long it lasts | Who sets it |
|---|---|---|---|
pll_language | Remembers the language you chose, so we do not send you back to your browser’s language on every visit. | 1 year | Polylang, the language plugin |
biilinx_consentimiento | Stores your answer to the cookie notice, so we do not ask again. | 6 months | This site |
biilinx_visto_<id> | Keeps a reload of the same blog post from counting as a new read. | 6 hours | This site |
Analytics cookies
We do not use any yet. The cookie notice asks for permission because we are going to add analytics, and we want the decision made beforehand rather than afterwards. Until we add it, accepting enables nothing.
When we do add it, this page will list exactly which cookies it sets and how long they last, in the same table above.
How to change your mind
There is a “Cookie settings” link in the footer of every page. It opens the same notice, and your new answer replaces the previous one.
You can also delete cookies from your browser settings. If you delete the language one, the site will pick the language from your browser again; if you delete the consent one, we will ask you again.
Why the necessary ones do not ask
Because without them the site cannot do what you asked. The language cookie exists precisely to respect your choice: if we removed it, every visit would send you to your browser’s language and your choice would count for nothing.
